Asbestos is made of naturally occurring minerals. These minerals are soft and brittle and can be easily cut by a knife or broken into powder by gripping. Although, its fine dust particles can create major health hazards like lung cancer due to its pathogenicity if inhaled in contacts. It was popularly used in housing constructions in previous times due to its insulating properties. But gradually due to harmful effects of asbestos on health, the use of this material has been banned.
